About Me
Talisha Harrison, owner and founder of Many Milestones Child Development Center (CDC) is a native of Queens, New York. Talisha moved to Virginia over 20 years ago to start and raise her family. Talisha is married to JB Harrison and they have 5 children: Mikayla, McKenna, Yasir, Jae and Jaxon. They also have a dog named, Princess Nala.
Talisha started her over 20 year career working for the United States Army North East Region Child Youth and School Services (CYSS) at Fort Monroe, VA. Due to Fort Monroe’s closure, Talisha was transferred to Fort Eustis Child Youth Services programs, were she served in various management positions. Talisha worked in Youth Programs, creating after school programs within the Fort Eustis community. She offered and or taught Archery, Cake Decorating, Sewing, Horseback Riding, Photography, Youth Financial Management, etc. She also served as a School Age Director and finished her career as the Pershing Child Development Center Director.
As the School Age and Child Development Center Director, Talisha mentored, and sawt to development professionals who had a passion and a heart for children and youth. Talisha took the entire year of 2022, seeking God and planning to end her career and focus on other ventures. In December 2022 Talisha took that giant leap of faith and turned in her Military ID card, keys and laptop. She was on to a new chapter…

The Birth of Many Milestones
After departing from her government position, Talisha came home and started homeschooling their youngest son Jaxon. They had a regular routine with homeschooling as well as Talisha spent the remainder of her day renovating their home room by room, most with her own hands. In July 2023, JB encouraged Talisha, that he felt she needed to start the in-home day care. Talisha was reluctant to do care in their home, as it was her dream to own a stand alone facility. JB repeatedly reminded Talisha that she was gifted to care for children and their were families that needed her kind of care. In that moment it became important to her too obey her husband and submitted to what he saw in her. So, Talisha immediately put together a flyer and posted it on Facebook. Within a couple of hours she had 2 families to schedule appointments to meet with her to view her program. After meeting with the families they immediately informed Talisha that they wanted her to care for their children. One of the things Talisha teaches her family is "obedience brings a blessing". Talisha's willingness to be obedient to her husband and his warm encouragements has brought countless blessing and that is what she will give to the children and families she serves. And the rest is Many Milestones history....
